Goals
List at least 3-4 short-term and 3-4 long-term goals here (6-8 total). Goals can be personal, educational, or professional in nature. If you are unsure of your career, you might relate goals to exploring your options.
Remember to develop SMART goals: Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, and Time-Bound. For more information on how to create SMART goals, click here: http://www.aims.edu/fye/plan/goal-setting.
Example goals include the following:
- Completing classes and educational requirements (degree/certificate) by a certain date
- Pursuing volunteer/paid experience to develop skills needed for the career (on campus or in the community). Be specific about what you will pursue and when.
- Taking steps to build your network (e.g. informational interviews.) When, what, where, how, etc?
- Seeking out people or utilizing resources that can help you achieve your goals (e.g. Aims Career Advisors for career counseling or help with creating a resume, people who work in the career for networking or finding positions, etc.)
